HasNa 2021 Peacebuilder of the Year Award Goes To IGAM
HasNa, a Washington-based non-profit organization, awarded IGAM the Peacebuilder of the Year Award.
IGAM, which was deemed worthy of the 'Peace Builder of the Year' award, was given the reason for its 'extraordinary work in the field of immigration and refugee advocacy, policy development and education, vocational training and social cohesion programming'.
The award of IGAM, which was selected from a group consisting of various non-governmental organizations, journalists, non-profit organizations, and think tanks, was announced on September 21, International Peace Day.
Metin Çorabatır, Malala Education Champion and Head of IGAM, whose views are featured on HasNa's official website, said, “Our main motivation is the resilience of refugees; their determination to survive and their hopeful outlook for the future. Their strength is our strength."
For the past five years, HasNa has been celebrating International Day of Peace on September 21 by electing peacebuilders.
