Participation and Localization

The TMK works on a range of thematic issues, which are determined according to the priorities of the communities our members work with.

The TMK’s thematic Working Groups lead the development of policy propositions. are made up of members of the TMK, plus other civil society organizations that wish to collaborate in developing policy recommendations.

At present, our Working Groups are developing policy recommendations focused on three thematic issues, which were selected following consultation with TMK members in May 2020.

3. Participation and Localization

This thematic issue links the expansion of meaningful participation of both refugees and host communities in decision-making processes that affect their lives, with the need to strengthen the role of national civil society organizations in addressing the needs of these communities. The Participation and Localisation Working Group has 7 members and is currently beginning to develop policy recommendations on these critical issues.
