Gender and Migration

The TMK works on a range of thematic issues, which are determined according to the priorities of the communities our members work with.

The TMK’s thematic Working Groups lead the development of policy propositions. are made up of members of the TMK, plus other civil society organizations that wish to collaborate in developing policy recommendations.

At present, our Working Groups are developing policy recommendations focused on three thematic issues, which were selected following consultation with TMK members in May 2020.

2. Gender and Migration

this theme draws attention to the specific challenges that women and girls who are refugees, as well as women and girls in host communities, face, which are often underappreciated. As gender is an issue that cuts across all of the thematic focus areas of the TMK, this group develops specific policy recommendations relating to women and girls, as well as providing a gender perspective to the other Working Groups. The Gender and Migration Working Group has 15 members and is currently beginning to develop policy recommendations.
